Judy received her Bachelor of Science in Biology/Physiology in 1998 and a Master of Science in Physical Therapy in 2001 from California State University, Long Beach. She specializes in working with people with neurological disorders, balance, and gait stability. She has certifications in NeuroIFRAH (special technique used to treat patients with stroke), LSVT-BIG, and Advanced Vestibular Rehabilitation. She is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association.
Judy has worked at Scripps Memorial Hospital, La Jolla since 2004 where her focus is in treating people with neurological conditions including stroke, brain injury, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and other neurological disorders. Her specialty also includes treating patients with gait disorders, balance disorders, and vertigo. She has a certification in LSVT-BIG, a exercise protocol designed for patients with Parkinson’s Disease.
She uses a well-rounded approach to neurological rehabilitation by incorporating her knowledge in NDT, PNF, therapeutic exercises, electrical stimulation, and manual therapy to help her patients regain normal function. She is trained in the use of the Bioness L300, an electrical stimulation ankle-foot orthosis used for foot drop.
Judy teaches community exercise programs maintaining mobility for people with Parkinson’s Disease. She participates in community events by providing education on stroke, fall prevention, balance, and injury prevention.
